Won't start - submitted to running a new wire

Chokes over 4,000 RPM - New fuel pump and filters installed (Joe's concerned it could be one of the 8 sensors or the ECU)

Not a good sight Phil..

Have you checked on ADVRIDER to help diagnose the symptoms? Someone might have experienced the same issues and be able to eliminate some troubleshooting for you.

Wish you the best of luck.

Lovely machine..

But get yourself the mini fairing.. Looks so much tidier.. Especially with the belly pan already being on..

Ray who lives in Chiang Kham sent me this regarding his custom Harley

ray.jpg

The Harley is a 2009 Screaming Eagle III CVO Softail Springer, I think the only one in

Harley formed a Custom Vehicle Operations in 1999 to showcase the Screaming Eagle range of high performance parts such as big bore cylinders (1800cc), flat top pistons, cams etc etc. This one also has a stage 1 tuner mod and high performance exhausts. Plus CVO installs genuine (HD) custom goodies they can hang off a bike.
Each year Harley through CVO releases a very limited run of usually 3 - 4 models with a hand painted special paint job including gold leaf, ostrich leather seats and all the aforementioned goodies. The bikes are supposed to be hand built by an individual technician who follows the bike from start to finish.
The bike resides in the Chiang Kham a large rural community in the Phayao district of Thailand 250km NE of Chiang Mai, 100 km SE of Chiang

New addition - a 2008 KTM 990 Adventure S

KTM 990 Adventure S

2008 KTM 990 Adventure S

Taking the Adventure even closer to Dakar winning machines is the "S" version of the 990 which promises to deliver the same goods at a higher level. The bike is characterized through an even sportier chassis and seat, but what really shows where its draws its roots from is the "Dakar" design.

I've also got my hands on one of these racers and I must say that even though the difference isn't striking, it is definitely set apart from the normal version by handling better and feeling like it puts down the power more effectively.

No matter what bike you choose, I advise you to take it easy on the throttle from the first rides because you wouldn't want to discover that you're a faith hearted!

Glad you got the first part in ok Greg.
Will certainly pop around when you make some progress with it.
Would be interested to check out the swinging arm as my stocker started to crack but not sure if it was from stress or cart wheeling into the wall at 160k`s.

Cheers

Hi there ,this is a picture of the bike when i bought it sight unseen from a guy in bangkok.Although it didnt look too bad it soon showed its problems with cracked frame, cracked swingarm, swingarm chewed out from wrong installation of spacers,P1060414.jpgtermie exhausts had a hole in underside, heaps of stripped threads, disks stuffed from running with pads down to the metal, totally rusted out tank, snapped head/cylinder bolts, carbies worn slides, all bearings stuffed, and just basically everything bodged,i could go on and on so i totally stripped it and started again.luckily i got it at a great price but it still hasnt been cheap.anyway nearly finished running it in now and its starting to show some potential.cheers Greg

What do you recon is cost to get it all finished Greg?

Hi phil i reckon i got 300k in the bike including the purchase price.the motor is all new including new high comp pistons,41mm keihin flatslide carbs.dyna coils, complete alloy clutch ,alloy light flywheel and had a mate take my heads to the uk to get ported and flowed by cjs racing which i got done cheap as he is a mate of his.I did all the assembly and the rest was just new nuts, bolts, powdercoating cleaning the engine and painting, some carbon fibre, bearings, brake lines and pads and little things.I already had the staintune full spaghetti exhaust from another project years ago.luckily the crank and rods were all good and within tolerance as i dont know much about that and would have to send it out to get done.the assembly was straight forward ,the only thing i didnt do was dial in the cams to a performance figure because i didnt know how to do that but will give it a crack when i get home next and buy a dial gauge as i reckon ive read enough about it to try it.luckily ive also got some mates that i work with who are good welders so they sorted all the major cracking problems over a few beers. If you know anyone who has an idea about dialing cams in let me know.cheers greg
