Tony of 'Tony's Place', Nan

Speaking with Wan, one of the things she is really looking forward to is a huge group of noisy big bikes following Tony from the temple to the crematorium. Her eyes were sparkling when she was talking about this.
I know its the rain season and a lot of you are quite far away but it would be nice to give Tony a huge send off.
Wan and family are all very happy with the love and support that is being sent their way. Thanks.

I forgot, I have two bikes so if someone drives up they are welcome to borrow the KLX for the ride.

So very sorry to hear that news. We only got up to Nan the once and met Tony and Nan and they took good care of us. We are planning a trip back to Nan in November/December, hopefully Nan will still be there so we can pass on our respects.

His brother posted the following today on Tonys Facebook timeline:
TIME CHANGE
My brothers funeral time has changed
11 AM at the temple
Move from temple at 12pm
to crematorium
Thank you

Just to say a huge thank you for all the Ride Asia and Nan Forum Members who attended Tony's funeral yesterday to pay last respects and the many generous donations to his wife Wan. He will be missed by many, but suffice to say Wan will continue to serve delicious food as normal with the help of Tony's brother Marty revising the menu side of things and the support of local boy's Mark and Andy who have been truly outstanding.

RIP.

He had a great send off and will never be forgotten.

Afterwards, in the evening Marty, Tony's brother, who has a restaurant in Oz, put on a fantastic roast dinner

Marty asked me "How was it"?

I said "not bad but Tony's was better".

Great evening with too much red wine.

Thanks for all the pics guys. A very memorable event.

Also a big thank from me as I was in the Netherlands for about 3 weeks and therefore could not be there in person.

Pun and me second that, thank you from Holland for visualizing the ceremonies!

^ beautiful. She is very very grateful to have us all in the family.

PS to anyone that was there, my allergies were seriously acting up...... I wasn't crying... it was the pollen or something

The pollen levels must have been pretty high I noticed a number of folk having eye problems that day.

Sadly all good things come to an end and Wan (Tony's wife) has decided moved on and with her new partner decided to rename the restaurant Daystar Cafe & Hostel, as the name suggest they have budget rooms available for travellers and the menu has been simplified so they can focus on particular dishes. I hope all of us can continue to visit her, the location is exactly as before.

The end of an era, well maybe the start of a new one.
