I was pleased to see this bike yesterday. Virtually identical to my first bike - and it would have come off the same line during the same week as mine
The engine number on that AJS is only a 200 or so from the engine number of my 1949 Matchless G80. The only difference between the bikes, the drive for the magneto on the AJS was taken from the exhaust cam, on the Matchless, it was taken from the inlet side and the magneto sat above the generator.
