I am looking at a bike for on road/off road trails, it has to be CRF250L or KLS250S i have decided when I purchase, what are thir good/bad points from the members?
From the rider feedback I've read, having never ridden a KLX myself, the CRF is the better on road bike, the KLX the more capable off road bike.
So if you want a Dual sport bike riding both you may prefer the Honda. Also the CRF is sold through regular dealerships across the country unlike the KLX, so servicing and parts are easy and cheap to come by.
If the bike was dedicated off road you may want the lighter KLX.
Barry, clutch plates in the crf's burn out easier than the klx if used hard off road feathering the clutch a lot, apart from that they are very similar in power, fuel consumption and weight.
I've hired both & found the Honda has a better power delivery & much better suspension.
The Kawasaki is better setup for me at 6'4" as I felt cramped on the Honda after a while.
Both of these were hired from C&P so they were in good nick & looked after.
If it was a choice I would take the Honda over the Kwaka
