The Route 1090, 4016, 4017,
Total Distance 195 km
I took the 1090 south then took a left onto the 4016 to carry on mapping
Some nice rainbows at this spot from where the fields are being watered
The 4016 is a lovely twisty well surfaced road from start to finish plus there are loads of dirt tracks coming off of it
Back on the 1090 and next is a trip to see the Pacharoen waterfall
A small overflowing reservoir on the way in
There is a school trip here today
I wondered what these were doing at first, they were picking out any stones that the children might hurt their feet on
The sign says this is a year round flowing waterfall that is best at the end of the rainy season
Now the kids turn to get in for a splash around
Now on the 4017
A bag of freshly picked chillies
The pickers take a rest
I take a left to visit the Pa Wai waterfall roadside at N16.34.495 E098.50.045
There is a fenced off area with good reason too
The water just goes down that deep hole
I cant see the bottom, I bet thats a good sight in the wet season and it would be interesting to find out where the underground stream comes out
I ride on past the waterfall and the road turns to dirt at N16.34.506 E098.50.166
Theres a right turn straightaway that goes down very steeply to the stream
I guess between here and the waterfall is where that underground stream would come out
Now to ride on to see if this dirt track rejoins the main road or not
The answer was no, it finished not much further along at this place
Plenty of tomatoes growing here
Now they would make a lovely meal
Time to turn around and ride back
Back in a village and fuel here at N16.34.134 E098.48.996
Further along the 4017 and fuel is available at N16.33.102 E098.49.728 and just past here I stop at this reservoir
This dirt track heading east off the 4017 has a sign at the top, it doesnt register on the ESRI and can be explored another time
The 4017 is pretty much like this from start to finish, a beauty
A bit of burning taking place over there
I reach the 1090, turn left onto it to ride a bit further to explore another new road for me, this one is a mixture of concrete, concrete strips plus dirt all mixed up for the entire journey
It quickly climbs high above the water
Even more burning up here
A not too difficult ride that was probably paved for more than half the journey
Eventually I reach the unknown village at the end
This guy speaks some English and says no fuel sold here
Now to ride back and there was a bit of rutted unpaved here and there
Even more smoke on the way back, I reach the 1090 after a round trip of 21.2 km since I left it and ride home
Jumpin Chicken & Pizza for tonights food, two pork burgers and large fries for 97 Baht, I certainly left filled up
