Last night was a pretty heavy deluge in Chiang Mai and this morning the underpass beneath Mahidol Road was flooded.
This didn't surprise me at all, as the level of the Ping in town north of the new weir constructed has been kept high to ensure the water level of the Ping within the city is attractive and also allowing various sites downstream to ravage the riverbed for sand.
This is the first decent test of the weir with heavy rain and we shall see in forthcoming months how the authorities manage the flow.
