Almost every day I sit beside this excellent Coffee Truck in Doi Saket (retirement is like that!),
observing the passing parade whilst sipping on an iced Americano.

Its a good chance to meet interesting locals and, sometimes, chat about the bikes they arrive on.

I will add pics here as I get them.
Sometimes I am unable to get adequate details about the bikes so I am hoping subscribers to RA will be able to
add accurate information and/or interesting anecdotes.

Anyway, here goes.

A couple of days ago this MZ (which I had never heard of) arrived.
The young Thai owner told me that it was "after the war" but didn't know if it was WW1 or WW2.
The fuel cap, which he says is original, gives a clue.

Nice one. I've got an MZ250 back in Oz - but it's a bitza - bits of this, bits of that... Ducati 21" front wheel, Postie bike rack, Suzuki alloy tank, Harley aftermarket seat and so on.

Keep sharing the interesting ones mate

The MZ 250 was an East German motorbike and was reasonably popular in the UK, they were better made than other makes like CZ which were Czech built.

This guy with his Yamaha TriCity 125 ....

... said the bike is OK but not so stable at very slow speed.

This chap, with pillion, rode in from Nan yesterday on a nicely set up Kawasaki Versys 650.

A Thai rider on this Binelli TRK 501 arrived for a snack during a tour of the north.
He said the bike is 'very good'.

I'm seeing quite a lot of these little battery powered scoots whispering around the area.
One lady told me she can ride hers from Doi Saket to Chiang Mai and return without having to recharge.
That's at least 40kms; and that's almost unbelievable. But that's what she told me.

A few local outlets here too.

This young chap was pleased to show off his nicely set up Yamaha WR155.

Sorry to disagree but with no mirrors and apparently no rear direction indicators, stop and tail lights, on a road-use motorcycle, it may be "nicely set up" but it is not safely set up - IMHO. Cheers

This arrived a couple of days ago and, at first, I didn't know what it was.

Until I discovered a badge.

A closer inspection revealed HD Pan American and a proud Thai owner sitting nearby.
Only around 1,080,000 baht.

My computer is back from serious heart surgery, so I will attempt to revive this thread.

A chap from Bangkok modified this little Honda 125, doing the art work himself and making the articulated trailer.
Love it!
