A GRAVATAR is a profile image that exists centrally on the internet
If you visit this site -> en.gravatar.com you are able to register your email address & then all websites around the internet are able to automatically use the image you have selected to associate with your email address.
It's optional, completely up to you & you are still able to upload your own custom avatar to your account on this site by viewing your profile, hovering on the current avatar and selecting to Edit avatar
