Trail Riding West of Hang Dong

Alex & I had been doing some exploring in this area in the past, so we decided to do some more poking around

The good think about this area is that in rainy season the terrain contains a lot of sand and rock, so the surface stays quite dry with the rain sinking through quite quickly.

As well as great trail riding, you can see below there are some great fire roads you can blast along that have quite a sandy/ gravel surface

Early in the day, we stumbled on a private motorcross track, that looked like it had been used for one of the FIM enduro events

After the mx track we went and poked around in some new areas west of Hang Dong. As you can see we found some areas that had some serious erosion from the rain and were badly rutted

Always good to see off-road reports.

That's the "Pan's Shop" track that formed part of the course we were racing on on Sunday.

This was one route we wanted to try - didn't look too appealing though, kind of a swamp

It was one the of clearest, brightest days we had in a while, great for photo's

Looks like we stumbled on an old quarry here

Great old wooden bridge that led to some greasy clay

The greasy hill over the bridge, not so bad actually

Beautiful butterfly landing on Alex, hopefully he has a close-up

This looked pretty nasty, Alex went scouting and said it didn't look too bad, so will give it a shot next time

This bridge was covered in green moss, didn't look like it has been used at all now, it looked like you could have got a bike across it no problem.

Thanks for the scouting, love this area, it's just great riding and so far never got stuck during rain season. Can't wait to try out more trails in the area, the ob khan national park is awesome!
