Moved this post from Lone Riders Quick trip to Phu Chi Fa Area and reposted here.
Early March I took the the Tiger for the first test drive, took the 1020 direction Chiang Rai and stopped at the monument of the Warlord of Chiang Khien.
For years I have been passing this place, sounding my horn. Today I wanted to have a look around as I was curious to know more.
Not a lot of information, all written in Thai.
The place was deserted but well maintained. Maybe the officers of the nearby Forestry Department maintain it?
Further down the 1020 took a right at Huai Sak on to the 1306 towards the 1052.
An uneventful road but very little traffic so ideal to potter about learning to know the bike better.
Took the 1052 in the direction of Phaya Mengrai and took a right up the 4013 towards the standing Buddha.
It is the time of year again that the views are somewhat foggy, the slash and burn season will last till the first rains.
With the new handlebar and grips, the Tiger is better suited for my size, rode 125km in about 2 ½ hour. It is a great little bike and I am happy with her.
