The Beach in Luang Prabang
During the dry season several sand banks are popping up out of the Mekong river and at least one of them is popular with the locals to play volleyball, have a beer, race their motorbike, etc.
You can get there by driving south-west from the Luang Prabang center to the Phosy Market. Cross the bridge and right after it at N19.87955 E102.12423 turn right and follow the dirt road to the Mekong river and you will see the "Beach".
By the way, once the Xayaboury Hydro Power project is finished in 2019 and the reservoir starts filling up, the beach will disappear forever.
