The preferred riding season will be coming to an end soon with the wet season encroaching upon us.

Rain and that dreaded Red Clay does not mix well with motorcycle riders and mores times than not you find yourself in it than riding on it.

Might open up a whole new experience during the wet season on a nice light bike. A little bit pricey for the studded tires but the studs only seem reasonable.

So who is going to be the one to try it this wet season?

It will be interesting to hear peoples verdict on that wet red clay we have here

I seriously considered trying to use the Ice screws two years ago. They would work wonders in the dirt. if you're unloading your dirtbike at the trail head and only riding dirt I think it will work well. Unfortunately if you ride your bike to the trails it won't be as fun skating about the tarmac on the studs. I experimented two years ago with using a drill to screw in hex screws into the knob. Worked well for a day and was fun. However by the end of the day 2/3 of the screws were broken or ripped out of the knob. I reckon the dedicated ice screws would work better and resist ripping out better than my standard screws. However its the pavement connections that screw up that idea.

Wondering how well the tire/studs would hold up if you installed them in the garage and removed them to form the holes. Then carry a small cordless drill to install/remove them once at trails edge. Short blasts on the asphalt should not be much of a problem and since this is Thailand, Laos and Cambodia you could ride the soft shoulder of the road without any problems. Just a thought.

I think it would be worth a go as you'll love them offroad in the clay. There are ice screws that are shorter studs that are meant for driving on the pavement a bit. Not sure if these are the ones available through Aerostich or not.
