struggled on the versys today

Just done a 600 km trip last week on mostly a roads and a few back dirt tracks..so this morning got brave hit the real dirt tracks around kham nadee..really struggled with the versys..
The conclusion is after advice from Bungy and reading the forums i havnt got a cat in hells chance of doing loas and cambodia on this bike.and hitting some serious tracks.
I have heard the week end warrior phrase bandied around.i have had a few quite tasty offf road bikes in my younger days .but the uk stopped alot of the trials and off roading..
So on my next leave i am going for the crf l...i will start posting some proper reports and pics..
By the way saw the klx 450 ..looks the bollocks..but not feasable to spend that money for a bike with no plates..so its the crf l with performance mods..

I have a CRF and it seems the ideal bike for this kind of touring. Cheap to buy, run and repair. I have also found it's easy to pick up when things go pear shaped. It will cruise at 100 kph which is about all I feel safe at on most roads here but it would be good to have a bit mor go for overtaking those pickups and vans going just a bit slower but who won't give an inch - probably the riskiest moments I have had here.
Will be researching performance mods when I get home.

I have a CRF and it seems the ideal bike for this kind of touring. Cheap to buy, run and repair. I have also found it's easy to pick up when things go pear shaped. Keep me posted on the mods not bothered about the money the hp could save my life mate that is what i find the most threatening also..its better to have the power to get away from the large vehicles and irratic drvers.

Yes i was a bit foolish in my thread had a bad couple of days and an extremely silly jack daniels session...
I will show some pics of a town called delores in nothern Chihuahua that i have just found..
It really is bandit country boardering the US...narkos and the local feds dont like cameras..
