The local Royal Enfield group based at Sahapanich were to hold a ride out to a jungle coffee shop in Samoeng on 25th
so I took my Classic on for an oil change and check on the 24th.
Whilst there I looked around at their new bikes and at some bikes in for service, taking special interest in saddle bags (probably my next purchase).
The new Himalayan 450 is their best seller now.
The Meteor 350.
And a couple of desirable Meteor 650s.
An original Himalayan 411 is on display.
So here are some of the bikes ready for the ride on the 25th.
I counted 20 bikes on the road, some with pillions.
They have a few 'Test Ride' bikes for potential customers.
A popular style.
This owner used the frames already fitted to the Classic.
And the obligatory pre-launch group photo.
Khun Coco here on the left is the main salesman and tour(s) organizer.
He speaks good English and is our 'go to' man for any RE matters.
The traffic light stops heading out towards Samoeng were an opportunity for us to regroup.
Then via some back roads and onto #1269 towards Samoeng.
Knowing that the group included some good Thai photographers I didn't stop until the destination.
I hope to include 'road pics' when I get permission from a Thai photographer.
Just before the main T junction in Samoeng we took a newly concreted track that led us to the delightful 'Oui Kaew Coffee'.
18.853, 98.733.
My riding partner on his new Hunter and I were the last to leave. Why depart this relaxing place so soon?
We road back via the lookout and were pleased to be able to enjoy a peaceful, smoke-free view.
And back to Doi Saket for a snack at the road-side Food Truck.
That was a very enjoyable ride in perfect weather.
No mishaps. No egos. Very friendly group.
154 kms door to door.
I hope to add road pics asap in part 2.
