The local Royal Enfield group based at Sahapanich held another Mini Ride yesterday.
I arrived early so that I could enjoy the candy in their showroom.
The 350 Classic.
Continental GT 650.
The Classic 500 Pegasus.
This original 411 Himalayan has been sold!!
The leader of the pack and top guy, Khun Coco with the latest.
So let's have a look at what turned up for the ride.
Test Ride bikes were also available.
The Thai owner of this Hunter has, I think, done some neat modifications.
The mandatory group photo with banner.
So there were 23 bikes in the group which rode out from the hustle and bustle of Chiang Nai and onto #1013, heading to
our destination in Mae Win.
We all safely arrived at the delightful 'Rahn Ma Mueang Win'.
Where the smoke had made the atmosphere 'very unhealthy'.
But the venue was charming and offered plenty of shade.
This was originally a solid teak residence, now converted to a restaurant.
I thought I would be wicked and have a creamy green tea and fish n chips.
I very rarely consume either but what the heck?
Later we played some adult games ....
..... like 'Flip the Bottle'.
And 'Bounce the dented ping-pong ball and try to get it into the glass of water'
There was success in both challenges, all of whom received a packaged prize from Sahapanich.
Many stories shared amongst the friendly group, then it was time for another group pic then on our own way to where-ever.
Which left Kevin on his new Hunter and I to discuss plans.
Because we had passed a couple of sites on the way in we decided to return mostly the same way, snapping a couple of pics along the way.
On the way in there were many tourists rafting here but by afternoon they had sensibly retreated to their air-conditioned rooms.
The Mae Wang hospital looks nice.
As does this attractive residence.
So that was another pleasant outing.
Thank you to Sahapanich. Khun Coco, RE staff and the friendly RE riders.
Incidentally, my Classic 350 was filled with 95 prior to departure.
I rode 166 kms door to door.
The tank holds 11 litres.
The fuel gauge has seven bars.
It showed five bars remaining.
So 11 divided by 7 is 1.57 litres per bar.
It has, apparently, drank 3.14 litres during 166 careful kms.
That is just over 52kms/litre.
Or 146 Imperial mpg.
And that is the approximate figure I have been getting from my Classic since the day I bought it!
Later I will post pics from other riders.
