Lone Rider
Blokes Who Can
Some 2 years ago (December 2014) I travelled on Road 1243 through the Si Nan National Park on my way to Laos and at that time part of the road was still unpaved

and the view to the south

Oddvar was recently there and he indicated that the unpaved part was now paved so, as I had to choose which way to take on my way home, I decided to take a slightly longer way and drive through the forest along the Thai-Lao border. Very happy that I did as it is a beautiful road and I had to remind myself to keep my speed down.
The same place - the Ranger Station - seen from the opposite side
And the elevation profile of the newly paved part also from south to north - about 400 meter down over a 9 km. stretch of the road.
