I just herd that beginning of October there will be Prasat Bike Week. Prasat is approximately 30Km south of Surin, great area.

I'll get more info on the event and let you all know. Anyone interested in old temples, the area around here has some of the oldest in Thailand. In this area people are very friendly and it still is a true land of smiles.

Ryan's resort is not far and offers great value for very decent accommodations.

Keep us posted on dates etc please.

Thank's Alex, my bags are packed i'm ready to go :cruiser:

Just to give all you guys a little background as far as food and accommodations etc is concerned:

Surin has a great Sushi restaurant named Hakouzu, always fresh and good selection for a decent price, definitely the best quality/price available around here.
Also in Surin is the Sidney Steakhouse, great meet selection and good prices. they cook to your liking (I am very anal when it comes to how my steaks are done...)
Surin also has a couple of big hotels (the best by the bus station, and a few nice resorts. The surin version of walking street is around the bus station and going south to Thongtharin hotel where there is a disco and several gogo bars with willing and able coyotes for those who fancy that kind of entertainement.

In Prasat where bike week is there are a few nice and inexpensive resorts starting with the One Place, Ari and Prasat Resort all near the "new Bus Station" (constructed but the mafia decided the old one was just fine so there is a great huge place with all sorts of massage and karaoke parlors around it and room for parties, that's where bike week will be held according to the local information).
A little outside town on the 24 towards Ubon is Ryan's resort, a decent place inexpensive (500 baht per night for normal rooms and 1,000baht for family bungalows) the place has a pool and a bar plus decent kitchen, English and thai food. (just say Alex gave you the info and said 500/night)

As soon as a I get a minute I will gather the directions and the numbers and post them here.

Well it's official, the locals know little about this event but there are several bike shops in Prasat and I herd there will be some people flocking here from BKK and around Isaan for the weekend of 11-12 of October.

Ryan's resort has rooms open right now, the number is 084 320 0279, Google page https://www.google.co.th/?gws_rd=cr,ssl&ei=zEImVJ3QFozHuASynoDQDQ#q=Ryan's+resort

See you in Prasat, Cheers.
