Pollution Levels Reach All-Time High

We are almost 15 days away from the annual smoking ban being lifted, but it has done little to reduce smoke and haze levels as reports of all time highs are reported.

According to the Climate Change Data site PM2.5 Chaing Rai is showing a very healthy level of 622 currently with Chiang Mai and Mae Sai topping that, The nation is reporting that a national disaster be imposed and at the very least hand out free masks to help protect people from harmful dust particles, so far the government remains silent.

Only a few months ago high pollution levels had been recorded causing a public outcry and school being closed, sadly Northern Thailand appears to be of little concern.

Airvisual sells sensors which are only suitable for indoor measurements, the source of the rest of their dataset is "vague"
As far as I know Airvisual (in Thailand?) only uses the data from their own sensors and the Thai Government PCD data........

A far better approach is by Chiang Mai University's CCDC: CCDC : Climate Change Data Center

For a better, more transparent set of data one may prefer to check the AQICN database, for Chiang Rai: Mueang Chiang Rai Air Pollution: Real-time PM2.5 Air Quality Index (AQI)

In Chiang Rai (and some in Chiang Mai) a set of AQICN's own Gaia (outdoor) sensors are registering PM2.5/10, together with the CCDC Dust Boy and official government PCD sensors.
