There are numerous guest houses and hotels with a range of prices in this town. The town itself has nothing much in it but is a good base for all the sights in the surrounding area. I stayed at the:

White Orchid Guest House

A few different priced rooms available, the cheapest 80,000kip on the ground floor while the top floor is 200,000kip.

There is a lock up for 2 big touring bikes, free wifi(but not in all rooms).

It is showing its age, but is clean and tidy. They run tours from here and rent bikes and scoots. A nice place for the budget traveller.

I stayed at the Maly Hotel... if you take a straight line between the hotel in the post above and the Migs, its about 40% of the way.

Can't miss it



Quite a lot of war memorabilia. Can get the bike off the street too

This is in the restaurant.



I was there about four or five nights, end of September (wet) and for most of the time was the only guest. No hassle getting food, etc, even as the only guest.

The late husband of the woman who owns it was the local contact behind a couple of the famous Laos documentaries (Secret War and Ravens). His brother was the General running the Air Force.

Locals in Phonsavan say this is one of the best value GH's in Phonsavan. Opposite Craters, good location, rooms 120,000 - 150,000 Kip
