Pak Beng Hydro Dam Underway

The fast flowing river is being redirected to allow foundation works for the dam wall and substantial earthworks happening on both sides of the narrow canyon. This looks like it is all China funded with China branded earthmoving equipment and trucks all over.

Watching and taking photos and along came two working elephants at a fast walk pace.

Phil that is the foundation work underway for the dam wall for the Hydro plant. The Pak Beng bridge down river has work happening on either ends next to the ferry crossing.

Nam Beng 1 Hydro Power Plant on the Beng River along Rd. 2W

The hydropower plant in the Beng river running along road 2W is now more or less ready. The construction crew is putting the finishing touches i and is cleaning up the construction site.
