'Oldies Cafe and Restaurant' is now open and will be in full swing in January.
It's at 292/2 Charoenrat Road, Chiang Mai (just north along the river road from Rim Ping Condo).
N 18.79751
E 99.00237
The olde Kombi is usually parked opposite.
It started life as a small place that serviced and repaired Vespas, Lambrettas and vintage bikes and now has expanded.
Khun Aon is the owner.
He's a very friendly and knowledgable guy and is very into vintage bikes.
The cafe is open every day from 10am to mid-night (but the opening times are not yet 'set in concrete'!)
There is live music every night and there'll be a special New Years Eve night.
'Oldies' seems to be a venue that will develop into quite a popular spot for Thai guys to meet and talk bikes and touring;
a sort of Thai 'Riders Corner'.
I went there today with 'Bigfella' and we met some very friendly people.
Khun Aon also imports bikes from Japan.
He said he can get new or used bikes on order, covering all the 'red tape' for the new owner.
The place is not pretentious, nor are the people there.
Imported coffee is ground on the spot, in this little item sent from France.
Friendly, relaxed place.
Best wishes Khun Aon, wife and staff.
(Oh, he has a Royal Enfield for sale too.
I'll put that in the appropriate thread.)
