The route 1080, 4008, 4001, 1291
Total distance 198 km
The riders Mike Suzuki DRZ 400
Captain_Slash Kawasaki KLX 250
Mike and I set off taking the 1080 to just past Tha Wang Pha then taking a left onto the 4008 to enjoy this smaller quieter road
Now on the 4001 and its my first ride today along this very twisty scenic road, at the start theres something going on
Those hills are just a taste of whats to come
Its certainly a lovely twisty surface
The surface turns to unpaved for 300 metres then its back to asphalt for a while
Now its an unpaved section for 11.5 km
But who cares when the scenery is like this
There is water running down here but it disappears and runs underground before the bottom of the photo
Nothing is showing flowing under the bridge then the water reappears from underground
I was expecting it to be cool up here in the hills but its a very hot day
We stop in a village
Two rivers merge at this bridge
The Huai Salun
The Huai Kon
To become the Huai Kon, it looks like the remains of a previous bridge at the bottom
A rickety looking old bridge in the distance
I venture onto it for some photos but dont walk far in case it collapses
The bridge is only accessible by walking to it
Its absolutely lovely out here today
Time to press on and enjoy more of this dirt track
The village we stopped at
Finally we get back on the paved surface
We ride to the 1291, turn left onto it and ride back to Nan
Back at Tonys Place and it appears the pets are the cashiers tonight, I guess my dinner will cost me a nice juicy bone and a fish steak
A lovely pizza for 195 Baht
