Heres a thread for KLX250 and D-Tracker modification

You've done something to yours? Post it here
You want to know how to do it? Ask here

Firstly, fitting LED lights or indicators.
Does anyone know if I need to change the relay for an LED friendly one, to fit LED indicators?

Alex
I had swapped my rear flashers for LED & Kawa @ CM sold me a relay, it was easy to fit & stops the fast flashing.

The old relay is under the seat (roadside, near exhaust) & not behind the headlight as per other online advice you may find. The unit comes with a small diagram, you just need the inclination to get it done.

Alex, the kit you receive from kawasaki, is a complete replacement.

btw, if you want to save yourself the trouble of mounting it yourself, know that they'll always mount the stuff you buy in their shop for free.

The Kawasaki dealer in Newcastle, Australia sell a 300cc upgrade kit for a Kawasaki KLX250 -- looks like the complete kit is around 100,000 BHT

It LOOKS like a KLX250 BUT.... it definitely doesn't SOUND or RUN like one.

The Works - The Ultimate Mild to Wild Conversion
$3,070.00 (100,000 Thai Bht)

With the works you don't have to up-grade the Std Carburetor!

Want your KLX250R to be the best it can be. This conversion turns your Mild motorcycle into a Wild Beast able to eat up the competitors and leave the traffic behind.

This conversion involves -

A) 300 cc kit and installation
B) Carburetor replacement and Throttle Assembly replacement
D) Complete Exhaust System replacement
E) Tuning to ensure it all runs right

With all of these options, you will be impressed with the results.

Phil, this is 1) for the carburated version, here in Thailand it's fuel injected so it won't work. 2) for 100'000 baht more you get a better bike, not just engine-wise but in general, suspensions, weight,...

But nice find.

Got loads of mods on mine, some are a bit of a mission to get (like the 13teeth front sprocket), or modifying the airbox intake to fit a bigger air duct,...

This weekend, I replaced the stock exhaust on my KLX250 with a nice piece of kit from Home Motor Racing Concept in Chiang Mai. Better sound, better performance, and 3 kg less weight. Very nice!

The contact is Khun Manit at Manit1234@windowslive.com

He doesn't speak/read much English, so best if you can communicate with him in Thai.

The full kit for 7,000 baht. Here is the outcome:

i saw this exhaust in the flesh last night, the workmanship is excellent, looks good value for money.

Mike I highly recommend you put a heat guard. I got the same home motor head pipe and burned my MX pants on it (that is if you stand up while riding).

and I have a 2inch circle on my leg from same.
Do you really notice the performance difference?

How much lighter is KLX250 than a DRZ400S

Just wondering in regards to spending big bucks on increasing the KLX HP vs just buying a DRZ.

Max, thanks for the tip, i am worried about my pants, and dropping the bike on my leg as well... We were going to wrap it, but that header pipe just looks so nice. Heat guard sound right.

I think the performance gain is mostly aspirational...like how red cars go faster. I do like the feel anyway....

I am up in Chiang Mai for a few days from Sunday. Where a bouts is Home Motor Racing based in Chiang Mai?

I'm thinking of replacing the stock exhaust with one of their's but would also like to know what they have been like long term.

Cheers

Home Motors is in Mae Rim
they were asking 5000 bt for the system a month or so ago, but I thought they wanted less than that when I went there before.
I'd like one, maybe a group buy is possible.
I took the old header in so they could make a copy, but they wanted me to take the bike in they asked 2500 for that, but iirc they wanted 1500bt before.

I got my wife to speak with him and he quoted her 7500 for a full system with a mega-bomb. Not to sure if that was posted to Pattaya though somethings get a little lost in translation.........

I've got to leave the bike at home this time due to a certain niece finishing Uni and leaving 4 years worth of prized possessions in our house ready for us to take back home for her which will just about fill our pick up.

I went there this week and after some slight confusion came away with a silencer and connecting pipe to the standard header. He did not have any mega bombs on the shelf and it would have been 3 -4 days before he could make one.

Carbon look end can plus pipe was 6500 baht, for the mega bomb add another 3000 baht.

He did say (I think) if I decide i want to add a mega bomb, to send back the pipe between the end can and header pipe and he would then send new pipe plus mega bomb back to me, as yet he can not manufacture a heat shield to go over the mega bomb.

I do not think with the end can alone any more power is produced, but it does make the tone of the exhaust sound a lot better and obviously lighter than the stock end can.

I have damaged my rear fender's plastic on a 2009 250 D-Tracker and need to renew. Apart from the official Kawasaki product does anyone know who else sells the body plastic in Thailand ?
