As you all must know we are planning a memorial charity event for Auke at one of the Mlabri villages off the 1091, the total number of people in these 3 villages now number just over 400, these people live day to day working for the local Hmong people for a pittance and also paying rent to them for the land they live on, a seemingly endless struggle.
Sue a local Nan resident has been working closely with them for some time trying to nurture some kind of cottage industry to help support them, now and in the future and they are making a variety of wickerwork items mainly made from saplings or root systems as well as some honey products.
If you know of any businesses that may be willing to showcase some of their products, it would go a long way to helping them support themselves in the future and future generations.
If you are not coming along on the 21st - 22nd and wish to support them PM me and i will put you in touch with the village.
Below are some images of what they are producing at the moment.
