Another useful missing link found and mapped by Rideasia like virtually every other one has been in this area between the 108, 1099, 105 and 1175.
Apart from a small handful of offroad riders no one at the old folks home would have enough life left in them to attempt something like this

Bloody great stuff Colin looks like you had a fun day and some really nice trails discovered along the way, thanks for all your efforts :worthy:

Thanks Bob, todays track nicely wraps up a bit of exploring I had done a couple of months ago when I found a track which I was told joined up at Mae Tun.
Today I rode it and found out it sure did link up

Amazing Colin, this must have been quite a long trip. I have added a lot of new GPS tracks for this area as well as the Omkoi area to the North Thailand GPS map. I got these GPS tracks from a guy who works from time to time in these areas. I was a bit uncertain about the quality of his GPS tracks but it looks like I do not have to worry about it anymore as your tracks are covering nicely his tracks with the exception of a track a bit south of Mae Tun where he took a track more to the east.

Yes Auke it was a long ride and one which was very enjoyable too, finding new stuff is always great and when it makes a useful link too its even better.
Was the track this guy took different from mine between N17.34099 E098.50509 and N17.34963 E098.49724? if so I rode past N17.34099 E098.50509 without even seeing the turning and where it joined the top end I rode back along it for a short way but it definitely wasnt the main track as you can see in the photo below

What a successful day of scouting looks like a hell of a long one too, great link ups Colin

What is also pretty interesting, is that you created a decent link up between Tak & Mae Tuen!!

Thanks Phil it was a pity it didnt fit in for you and DB to ride it with me but at least we have it in the bag now before someone else beat us to it

We would love to have done this with you!!!! Unfortunately, the freeloaders are being given a helping hand & want to destroy all the hard work!

Can you be a bit more specific about what you mean with "the freeloaders are being given a helping hand & want to destroy all the hard work"

Hi Colin,

Yes, that is indeed the difference between his tracks and yours. Good to know that it is a minor track so I will change that part of his track to a single trail although, looking at your picture, I assume that a 4WD could get through without problems. Hope to see you before you are heading back to the UK as I just got back yesterday late afternoon from Laos.

Nice trail and pics Colin, thanks.
