OK Colin, so another 'Tour of Duty' comes to an end and, again, I must express my admiration of your sense of purpose and focus.
It's not easy to do what you do day after day for months on end.
Well done! :DD

Same from me and many others Colin, you are truly an avid adventurer with remarkable persistance. Look forward to catching up with you later today.

Another motorcycle, pioneering chapter comes to an end, but not the end of the book for sure. On behalf of all of us who love to read about your exploring and benefit from your generosity of sacrificing your time and money without expecting anything in return (very rare in this day and age), a big thank you for continuing the adventure, see you after rainy season.

I too would like to add my whole hearted thanksand appreciation forthe Captains dedication to recording his rides. Seriously all his reports are atreasure, myself I've toured often yet done less than 1% reporting of thejourneys I've done, with so many following Colin's routes from recent trips oreven his earliest record runs. They have provided inspiration: from routesfollowing in your tire tracks myself, to finding an excellent proven restaurant to takemy son to in remote locations who also doesn't like the green shite, to many agood night’s sleep at budget hotels tried and proven by Slash himself. And thetrip reports provide a much need escape from far north Canadian winters;nothing beats having my morning cuppa and seeing where the Captain wentyesterday.

Thankyou for taking us along Colin, hopefully we'll have a chance to ride with yousooner than later!

Thanks for all the congratulations and positive comments everyone.
Its really great to be part of a forum where theres no pecking order or inner circle unlike another one that I used to post on where if you were not really accepted by the inner circle then you felt like you were tolerated rather than really welcomed.

Ditto, thanks, Colin for all the info, reports and pics. Hopefully we'll see you back in Nan after the rain.

It is the same from my side. I am new to the round but I really enjoy your ride reports. Keep going and always have a safe and pleasant ride

Another season over, see you next November Colin.

Ally

Thanks for taking the time to post the pics, maps and reports Col.

Catch up again next ride season.

Hi Colin

You are one of the exceptional adventure rider in the part of the region that provides feedback and amazing pics almost daily on the rides that you have undertaken solo on a consistent basis as well as your astounding persistency in getting those trails in remote areas. It is a great priviledge to ride with you during your visit to Ipoh from all the way north in CNX.

You have rode for more that 3 months I guess during each if your visit and almost regularly on daily basis and yet have the strong motivation in riding these routes and enjoying the moments of the rides. I could have imagined that the passion in pursuing such endeavour is most admired as it take tons effort let alone the monetary sacrifice to achieve such goals. As I have just rode for 4 weeks instead of my planned 8 weeks in Thailand and Laos, I felt my body aches even after reaching home for almost a week.

I sincerely wish you a pleasant journey back to UK and look forward to see you again next year.

Warmest regards

Lip Meng

Captain, that might be true if in both forums you would have been a member in the outer circle, however I remember a "Key T shirt" indicating otherwise.
Inner or outer circle is a perspective one takes himself, the forums are not those inner circles but they are a lot more than just that!

In het land der blinden eenoog is koning? In the land of the blind, one eyed is King.
I fail to see how a one eyed King relates to Captains feelings about circles?

Both RA and GTR are forums for people who enjoy riding motorcycles.
As always some people like each other and ride together, eat together, sleep together and drink together, some (if not many) others choose not to.

If you acknowledge these circles and confirm them, they exist. If you choose to ignore them and do your own thing they do not.
If you recognize an inner circle, why would anyone want to be welcomed there in the first place?

To be honest, do we ride because we enjoy it? Or do we ride so we can publish it at a forum?
And does the group of riders and their belonging to any circle mean any difference riding with them, if you enjoy what you do, which is riding (and not politics)??

Both forums in my opinion have many circles, I see them but choose to ignore them as I do not care to be one of them.

So your saying someone let Capt into their inner circle ??

..I know.. I really should grow up !!

While I can agree with some of what your saying.. I think different places place a different level of elitism and seniority on established orders, rather than at least trying to present all as equals.

Thanks Colin for all the enjoyable pictures of all the trips you made this year. Still working to get all your tracks and waypoints in the map buy I promise it will be ready by the time you are back in Chiangmai later this year.

With regard to the Inner Circle, the story is a bit more complicated but, as I won't muddy the waters, I'll leave that to Colin to explain.
