Just did a shopping trip to Mai Sai. This post is an info update on 2 hotels listed above.

House Hotel - no more large sign saying HOUSE. Real name is Kong Kam House - www.kongkamhouse.com, 053 734388.
They only have 2 rooms for the advertised 500 baht rate - the rest are 700 and 900.

We did stay at a place right on the main drag - Chour Palace Hotel - www.chourpalace.com - 053 733787

Olive green 6 storey building on the East side of the road.

Low season rate 900 baht - 16 April to 31 October, High season 1100 baht

Prices include a decent breakfast buffet. Nice rooms, covered parking under hotel.

We took a look at the Bird Hotel as well - just because of the look of the place.

It is located on the NE corner at the traffic light where Route 1 and 1290 intersect.

You really cannot miss the place - a huge white building and compound displaying numerous 3 meter high, gold painted statues of assorted Greek gods.

The building has rooms for rent, 500 baht for the night. Fancy exterior, basic air-con rooms.

The compound has 2 rows of short time rooms. Air-com is 150/hour, fan is 100/hour.
