I am in the planning phase of a trip to Kashmir/Jammu in northern India. Some areas that until recently was not possible to enter for foreigners are now opened up for tourists.
I plan to leave from Bangkok to New Delhi mid August 2012. Fly from New Delhi to Chandigarh and from there rent a Royal Enfield and ride north into Kashmir/Jammu. There is a company in Chandigarh that rents out the new Royal Enfield model with fuel injected engine.

I got quoted around 500 USD for 2 weeks rental of the new 500 CC model.
Should be some great scenery in this area....
