Look what I found in the jungle

Was riding in North Thailand last weekend and came acorss this Huey. Pretty much intact, although gutted a bit. Seats are gone, but most of the controls are still there. I have been to this spot before, but the chopper wasn't there the last time i was. Am wondering if anyone knows how long it's been there.

Yes, the Huay has been there already for some time - story is that he came in to land but somehow (wind/weather/pilot ?) came in too fast and had a very hard landing just short of the landing pad. You might want to inform the Thai army ... they are still missing an heli in that area .... or is that what they say when the missed the platform?

Some high army guy in Chiang Rai had one in the garden in front of his house at the 1020, close to the highway 1 intersection.
I believe he sold this house and the helicopter is gone now......
