I wonder if I'm the only one to complain about the really soft rear suspension on the KLX250.
I'm about 85kg in gear, and I find the suspension sag to be too much. If I put a passenger on the back, even a 45kg passenger, the chain hits the rubber roller on any small bump, and the headlight starts lighting up the trees above the road instead of the road itself.
Any affordable options of stiffer rear springs? I noticed the D-Tracker 250's rear spring has one less coil than the KLX250's, and is stiffer. Wonder if that's a good option.

Depends on what you use it for, stiff is good for highway use, but like you my KLX bottoms out when loaded up off road, another good reason not to carry so much crap on trip's. If you have changed the bones and lowered the bike then this could highlight the problem.

Like you say, bottoms out when loaded up off road. I agree about carrying crap on the bike, but (I know this is crazy) I often have a girl on the back even off-road.
At 190cm tall I didn't need to lower the bike, it's stock height. Just wondering if maybe I should find some lightweight guy (or, indeed, person) with a D-Tracker 250 who would want to swap for a softer KLX250 spring, or will it be too stiff.
I've seen some guy weld three bolts between two coils of the stock spring, effectively eliminating those coils from the spring and making it stiffer, but that is so ghetto/ugly, and I'm not sure how durable is the spring after such treatment.
