After the 60,000 km service when I picked the bike up and rode off I thought this pulls better from low down now thats its been serviced.
Initially I thought it was a new plug and air filter that had sharpened it up but now I have my doubts.

It had a part replaced to stop the fuel from dripping out of the canister and a new cam chain and guides.
I am now noticing this extra oomph at the very low end, 0-4000 rpm and its got more bottom end pull than it has ever had which really shows up off road, while this is welcome it is now not as economical as before getting about 3-4 kpl less.

Is it most likely that they may have altered the cam or the fuel system to get this change? I initially thought the fuel system but two people who have had their cams altered both told me their bikes now use a bit more fuel but the bottom end is better

Hey Colin!
What kind of camshaft alteration is that? I seem to remember hearing about some mod with changing one of the camshaft's the timing by one cam sprocket tooth, is that it?
My bike has 67000km on it already so I'm gonna go inside the engine to replace the cam sprockets, chain and guides soon, as well as new piston and rings.

Thanks, that's the article I saw before. I'll probably do it during next top end service.
I'm wondering if that is what the Kawasaki mechanic did to Colin's bike. Without asking if he wants it or not?

I doubt that a mechanic shows that much initiative. :)
