In my opinion it is strange to refer to a city with it’s airport IATA code, nobody calls Korat/Nakhon Ratchasima NAK right?
No one refers to Krabi as KBV, Trat as TDX or Samui as USM, so why call Chiang Mai city CNX?
If you want to abbreviate it, better call it CM and let's refer to Chiang Rai as CR instead of CEI.
