took my karcher pressure washer K297 for service 4 weeks ago got it back today ,,, '' cannot fix says main Karcher agent , old model cost to fix to much (5000bt)no spare parts ,,, you buy new one''

only problem is that K297 is still sold as a current model in Thailand and UK for 4950baht on the shelfs in Karcher !!!!! or £79.95 in UK!!!

pillocks , i have taken it home opened it up myself ,it needs new piston valves £5,99 in uk

then i start watching English movie channel on TMN network pattaya and they are broadcasting films in Swahili????!!!!!WTF with Thai subtitles ...DOH!!!

yesterday was in a bike shop in Jomtien with a mate and they had a 2 year old Ducati 795 monster locally made model which you can buy new for 399k, it has 21400km on the clock and the shop was asking ............390k !!!!! and no it had no expensive after market goodies to add value ......Totally stupid price ,,, my pal offered 340k cash but the dealer refused ..my pal told him new ones are available for 399k only 4km at ducati main dealer ,the salesman told us we were GO HOK !!!!

amazing thailand ,, i am laughing hysterically at these idiots ,,

wonder what tommorow will bring ??

Some days heavy drinking seems the only logical thing to do..

I have also had some doozys on sales stuff with locals.. One time there was a d tracker advertised but in Thai fashion only as monthly credit and the cost to transfer to finance.. I asked how much to simply pay cash, they then add up ALL of the outstanding finance etc etc and the money he wants.. And it comes to more than walking into Kwak to buy a brand new one.. No amount of explaining that could show that logic.. He just knew he paid xx amount down.. And already paid x amount of monthly payments and he wanted most of that back. The fact it made it more than new cost was not his concern.

I guess if your only selling to other people, who can only buy it on credit but second hand for more than new ??

I also remember a neighbor selling an old car.. Just an old small japper car of low value.. The discussion went.. Well he bought it 2 years ago for 120k.. Ad in the 2 years he had owned it, he had put in a battery, and a wiper motor, and spent 20k.. so the sale price was 140k.. After his 2 years of driving it.. Erm... OK then..

Thats so true went with mia Noi last week to look at new cars , when comparing deals in showrooms doing some simple maths it suddenly dawned on me that it was actually 46,000baht cheaper buying on credit over 48 months than paying cash ,,,there is no discount for cash and no freebies , the interest rate was only 2,6% over 48 months with free1st class insurance, servicing and other free stuff included , crazy or what !!!

she likes the mazda 2 ,but it has a poor reliability record according to JD power due to parts from volkswagen in its electronics , I was interested in Nissan until i looked in the engine bay and realised Nissan dont paint any part of the car you cant see anymore in anything other than basic primer not acrylic either .....cheap charlie short term move ....
new suzuki swift looks good and has excellent record and price but cant find local pattaya dealer ??? chevrolet to expensive , honda ditto , Toyota ,old technology even in new vios ,

I thought the ford fiesta was much more car than the mazda 2... Stability control, better auto, etc etc etc.. The top end has all round 6 airbag dealie too.

But I was told (not verified) that the suzuki now sell an eco car version of the swift, similar to the micra and mirage, that due to a different tax bracket dropped the swift from 6xx k to low 400k which is a huge price difference. Never looked but a low 400k swift would be high on my checking out list v the price of comparable motors.

Credit is not a problem if you put up 30% ,,,,

The ford fiesta and mazda 2 are same car with different body and engine ,,,I am trying to find out if the Thai built models use Denso electronic and ABS and not the Bosch system from VAG group as the European cars have had big expensive problems .

Based on the same platform but better auto (6 speed v 5 I think), better engine, better electronic stability control, and the 7 airbag option (plus junk like voice control etc thats a gimmick). Plus the mazda dealer was such a total fail at customer satisfaction, or any attempt whatsoever to make a sale I walked out in disgust.

I do think the mazda interior with the leather and ali style looks pretty nice but was leary of a black interior in a hot country.. The ford leather in light grey seems OK.

They are only shopping trollys but I still think the fiesta is currently the pick of the small cars here. Tho as I said if its true that the swift can be had at the mid 400k range thats a big price diff. The top end fiesta with all the trimmings is pushing up to high 700s before you add any options.

The current Suzi Swift sold in Thailand is made at Maruti in India, this is the face lifted model. I am not sure but believe the Swift model before the facelift was build in Japan.

True, they have an assembly plant in Thailand, so the Swifts are domestic. I just wished they started building Jimny's there!

No Suzuki dealer in pattaya as that would be my favourite ,,

but something amazing has happened I have negotiated 12% discount for my mia noi and 0% finance over 4 years on a new mazda 2 sport ,thats a 59,000 baht saving still with 1 years free insurance and a load of extras too ,delivery 3 weeks , ford Honda, toyota ,chevrolet would not give 1% discount even on cars sitting in the yard ,
