Since the crackdown on grey imported motorcycles into Thailand a couple of years ago, there's been reports that it is illegal to import motorcycle frames into Thailand, with stories of Thai customs cutting them in half when discovering them.
Just had a long chat with head of Thai customs in Chiang Mai & after consulting his latest Thai customs tariff book, he conveyed that it IS possible to IMPORT new motorcycle frames into Thailand, but the Thai commerce department has to be contacted before hand to legitimize the import.
This opens a realm of possibilities to the creative mind, especially regarding off-road motorcycles.
NOTE: This ONLY applies to new motorcycle frames it is not possible/ illegal to import a second hand motorcycle frame.
