After an enforced three year closure our Tuesday Street Market is open again, bigger and better than before.
Late afternoon is the best time to be there.
Motorbike parking is best found in the grounds of the Sports Stadium; access along #1007 through Doi Saket main road then
through the traffic lights, right into the day market and take the narrow lanes to the stadium.
The heart of the Street Market is 18.869, 99.137.
The Street Market takes up the four roads at this intersection.
I'll post a collection of pics to give an overall impression of the goodies available.
Way too many temptations!
And, of course, the ubiquitous lottery tickets.
Bugs anyone?
These superb sushi is made freshly as you wait and at only 5 baht a piece!
Rabbits, birds etc were for sale.
Lots of new and second-hand clothing available.
The only negative I have is that, once purchasing a handful of goodies, there are no tables or chairs available.
However, I found a couple of areas near the stadium to sit and devour my sushi.
There are also no rubbish bins!
However, miraculously, the entire site is spotlessly clean early Wednesday morning.
This vendor put his Keeway 200 to good use.
There is a nice Coffee Shop at the road junction ("Himalaya") and some seating.
At this stage it seems the Street Market closes around 8pm.
It is a very enjoyable afternoon.
