Harri-The-Finn crashes but is ok

One of Asia's veteran trail riding rockstars, Harri-the-Finn just had a front end crash, we're told at around 100 km/h.

Midnight Mapper just got off Skype with him:

"Wow just had a skype chat with Harry, wow did he have a big one!
He walked away after sliding 70 meters down the road!"
"

Glad to hear you weren't hurt Harri & walked away from it.

Hi all,
I'm OK, just a few scrapes on the palms bruises all around. A good reminder to wear all you gear, I trashed a jacket, pants, gloves and a full face. I count myself lucky there were no concrete posts alongside the road or I wouldn't be here writing this.

A "somchai" with coke bottle glasses was coming at me and seemed to want to turn across my lane, I slowed down expecting him to continue the turn, he changed his mind a couple of times and I just picked the wrong side of him to go. I clipped his rear wheel and he kept the forks and the front wheel, after that it was a slide until a convenient ditch stopped all progress.

The cops wanted me to pay for his pick up, I refused to go to the station and we both just signed in the coppers book and went on our way. Him a tow truck with a busted rear axle I hope.

If Pounce can send me 5 litres of buffing agent i think i need it, i already got another set of forks stanchions, a wheel, disks, linked brakes and hoses, the headers are a bitch, i may be able to cobble up some from the bits around the garage. But the plastics?? if anyone sees any VFR800 plastics at Red Baron or somewhere drop me a line.

Anyway, lucky this time, may stick to the dirt a bit more in the future.
Wear your gear.
Harri.

Lucky to be in full health and typing that with nothing more than scrapes and bruises..

speedy recovery to you sir.

I like that bit!

Thanks for illustrating (for riders such as myself) the benefits of always wearing good riding gear Harri.
So glad you are OK.

Harry- would be interested to see some photo's of the riding gear you were wearing and how is stood up to the accident

Quality, protective riding gear pays for itself.

Harry just sent through some photo's of the gear he was wearing and the condition after the crash.

It seems whenever someone comes off and has a long slide on the tarmac, they lose the skin on their palms. Looks like we should all be wearing gloves with tougher protection in the palm area.
