We have had rain here everyday since thursday evening and each night it is getting heavier and lasting longer, lots more water in the streams/rivers now

Its dry again this morning as is the norm and the paved surfaces are all dry
IMG_1273.jpg
Its looking like a nice day

I was sliding around a lot today and it was slow going even though I was riding on flat surfaces, sod trying to climb steep hills on that slippery red shit
IMG_1278.jpg
Maybe I was a bit premature in saying it looks like its going to be a nice day

Taking cover from a torrential downpour

Heres where the GPS gave up
I was taking cover from rain when it just beeped and turned itself off, I turned it on again but the screen will only show the amount of satellites that are tracking me.
No buttons work and the only way to turn it off is to disconnect the external power supply and remove the batteries, once either power supply is attached it automatically turns itself on again.
I wait here for probably 30+ minutes then just ride home in it

My dinner being cooked, today is eight days here and no Western food at all

This was sweet and delicious pork with onions and garlic, this plus two portions of rice for 80 Baht and I was stuffed as there was a lot of pork there

No track today as the gps short circuited/blew up this afternoon, I will return to Chiang Mai tomorrow to sort out getting it fixed

It looks like all Garmins have self destructed at first sign of rain, this year
They were ok 3+ years ago, how come they're no good now?

The depression that headed westwards AFTER the 380 km/hr typhoon that devastated the Philippine's a week ago stayed well south and looked like we were clear of it up north.

With the sun moving south (equinox) & the high pressure in place over northern Thailand, this sure has caught a few of us with our pants down. I bet there are many already out there trail riding

Latest weather map (Nov 19, 2013) below ...you can see the high pressure (normally white fluffy clouds and dry air) in place, the two low pressure systems in the SE Asia region seem to be causing the problem.

GpxViewer

Fortunately the track was saved and once the sd card was transferred to another GPS it was retrieved
