I recently had my 2014 CRF250L modified with the components from the CBR300. I have seen dyno tests on youtube that show this modification will increase HP from 18 to 32 at the wheels. Exhaust and air box mods are necessary to achieve these numbers. The difference is astounding. I was able to do a real side by side comparison using a friends' (Russ McDermid) bike. The friends bike is stock other than a 13 tooth front sprocket. I have also done just about every mod possible to this bike. The most worthwhile one, is the engine and fuel management upgrade. The bike will now wheelie in second with just throttle. No need to dump the clutch. The fuel economy suffers by about 20%. The sprockets have been changed to a 13 45 set up. This is perfect. It is now able to rock crawl in the steep technicals and has a top speed of 136kmh as tested on gps. The cost of the engine mod is 15,000 baht, with an additional 7,500 for the EJK fuel manager. This is parts and labor. I also modified the rear suspension with an Ohlins shock(19,500 baht) and had the shop do a front fork rebuild with new shims, new spring, heavier oil and bleed valves (3300 baht). I have also added Renthal bars, Acerbis fuel tank, and a Lithium battery. I brought these over from the states. The acerbic tank delivered to my US address was $200 US from Amazon. I am finally happy with my bike. I have attached photos of the original invoice. Be careful when looking at it. The 7s have a horizontal slash through them. The bike has the power it was lacking now with the same honda reliability. I had this done at MX moto shop in Chiangmai Thailand. The owner is Nattawat Reeweerakul and his thai number is 085 071 3778 . He can speak limited english. He has done over 50 of these mods and knows what he is doing. He is also a dunlop dealer. He stocks ohlin shocks for the CRF.
