Hi
A summary of what I found on my 14 day ride in january.
The Crf250L I ran a 14/ 45 and is just perfect for the trail. The climbing of the hills is much better than a rear 40, there is no need to fan the clutch unless your speed drops off. The road riding you can still sit on 100 km no problems .
The klx250s I ran 14/48 , the 48 was much better on the hill climbs , you can stop and start any time. On the other hand the road riding was to slow at 80km for the long distances . If you are doing more trails than road then I would put up with the 80 km at 6000 rpm.
I will be trying a 46 on the rear, so let's see how I go.
Will keep you informed.
