Excuse what may be a naive question, but here goes.

Back in the 80s when riding Honda XLs around Oz we changed the original chains with Reynolds chains.
This greatly improved (and quietened) the performance.

Question.

Are Reynolds chains still available?

Found them!
It's actually 'Renolds' without the 'y' and they have an outlet in Bangkok.

Found Renolds bad and Regina even worse. Snapped three Regina before realising the make was the common factor, since then only trust Japanese chains. Sad but that goes for a lot of things.

Interesting Tim.
As I said, used extensively in the varying conditions of Central Oz and they were terrific.
Daily lubrication and tension checks though.

Fair 'nuff, probably ok around here then. I only had problems when I started thrashing superbikes round Europe at high speeds. Still wouldn't trust them though, my Jota literally ripped a Regina apart and my 851 stretched one so much it 'knuckled' round the sprocket and broke the crank cases despite having a 'Scottoiler' fitted. Investigation showed that it had not been made with enough lube inside and 'O' rings prevented any getting in. Same thing hapened to friend I was with on his return but he was lucky, just pushing bike out of garage when it locked up.

Interesting that you found Regina chains crap, I put one on a Honda XL600 back in the 80s and it snapped, I never used them again
