I have an old beaten up CBR250 (2011) that I use for smashing around the city on my weekday commute.

I’m going out for more and more weekend rides nowadays , and will be doing some more touring in the coming years.

Time to upgrade the little CBR250 for the touring/weekend part at least.

Was going to sell it and get a used CBR500 for about 140k baht.

CBR500 used for city commuting and weekend touring.

Another option is to keep the 250 for the weekday commute and buy a used N650 for around 130k.

To be used at weekends etc.

More running costs, insurance costs, servicing costs etc.

For those with experience of the bikes, which would you choose?

CBR500 for city commuting and odd weekend touring?

Or CBR250 for city commuting and old N650 for the odd weekend touring?

What is an N650? if its a Honda NX 650 Dominator you are talking about then I would definitely go for one

Go for one do-it-all bike, less headache.

I'm starting to think of doing the opposite.

One Jack of all trades.

Versus a bike that is better at city commuting. And a bike that is better for touring.

A bit more headache and expense, but one has a better bike for every ride.

One Jack of all trades though (CBR500) would be cheap and easy though. :D
