Bike import to Vietnam

G'day guys I'm thinking of importing a new bike to Vietnam from Australia when my Vietnamese wife and I move there later this year and was wondering if anyone on this forum has had any experience with this sort of thing. Would really appreciate some advice if any one has any.

From what I've heard, it's probably going to be very expensive as Vietnamese import taxes on foreign vehicles are amongst the highest in the world. Hopefully someone with actual experience will be able to detail the procedure and costs.

I would do a search on "Viet Horse " and ask him, an active motorcyclist in Siagon, has posted some trips to Thailand etc. Local knowledge.

Thanks for the suggestion Harrythefinn I have had some contact with Viethorse and never thought to contact him but I will now.
