Ok..... So finding it difficult to find current and up to date info regarding importing a motorcyle into Cambodia?????

I've purchased a KTM 450exc and have plans on slowly relocating to Cambodia. Currently I have the bike in Australia and have been quoted $600 to get it there.....

That's all.......

Now I want to travel around and cross borders ect and wouldn't mind getting it registered in Cambodia. I'd also like to push the system and obviously play little or low import tax.... Are there back doors deals or agents that are well informed that could help....

If I was to bring the bike over on a carnet( reading up says not needed) could I simply remove the Aussie rego and get it registered? By bring it in I avoid duty tax and by continuing to travel across to the Thai border ect I could renew the time in the country.....

Any contacts that could help or info.....

Have you checked the following thread for buying a new KTM in Cambodia ?

http://www.rideasia.net/motorcycle-forum/ktm-motorcycles/2595-ktm-cambodia.html

I'm guessing a new 2013 KTM 450 exc would cost between USD 12 and 12.5K (all taxes paid) based on other bikes quoted.

If you still want to import your own, you could try Narita Logistics for a quote. They are French run and tend to be a bit more realistic with their quote than other local operators.

I've purchased a 2011 KTM 450 EXC for $7500 Aus so I've got room to move with importing.

Will I need to bring it into Cambodia rego in Australia? Need carnet? And local license/ residency in Cambodia?

Thanks bill.

Sorry mate couldn't open your other threads

Narita quoted me around $1200 in charges to bring in a KTM. That includes their fees and the numerous Cambo gov charges, but doesn't include import tax.
Import tax on a used 2011 KTM450, my guess would be around $800
Add your $600 for shipping totals $2600.

If you have current Oz rego, you could ship it to Thailand on temporary import, then ride it into Cambo. Once in Cambo the tax could be arranged via a fixer.....
Might save $1k doing it that way.

There's some threads on temp import to Thailand.
