After going down the route of gutting the muffler on my CRF-M i decided to try another option. I had heard good things about a Thai fabricator who makes systems to order so i contacted them via Facebook, initial contact fantastic asked all the right question, what kind of riding, what fuel and sprocket set up i had, so all very positive. Was advised it would take around two weeks to make up and ship at a cost of 9,500 baht for a full single pipe system.

Pictures from them during fabricating.

As you can see the guy although working alone has a nice production line going.

Since i told him i was not a lover of overly loud pipes he made up a removable insert.

The finished pipe is mocked up on a donor bike for fit.

I was amazed how much the stock muffler weighed a mighty 14KG !!

Fitting was easy less than ten minutes.

Sounds a lot better now, for sure.
Did you put the new pipe on the weight scale as well?

Stupid me forgot, but handling both at the same time so's to speak i would say around 4KG

How does this guys work compare with the mae joe guy ??

Also.. Do those 'add on the side' powerbombs really work ?? I mean I see the FMF type powerbomb header, but struggle to think that a side box like that does anything ???

I have seen Home mufflers and IMHO this guy is way better. Like i am not sure of the merit of the power bomb config but the chap has been around a long time and is a pretty useful rider himself, looking on his FB (sorry can't make link work) and website he has dyno testing stuff while designing the pipe, the one i have is Version 3 so it's a constant work in progress. Time will tell but up to now i'm pretty impressed which is unusual for me to say that in LOS.

The biggest problem is getting hold of him, he will not answer the phone during the day and only responds to FB messages, he said he could never get any work done !

all respect to this system ,looks great and definetly is light material and lighter then mine..but there is a big welding shop off the road to Arcade bus station, that 'cleaned up' my original muffler and rebuilt it+changed part of the pipe for less than 2000B. much lighter then before ,definetly ,and looks still 'original'.sounds fatter ,and if a cop is trying to get some booze $ about it u could attempt to say 'maybe broke'? but probably u still have to pay the classic 200B booze $ to leave
i miracolously found the shop with google earth ,is in a small soi..if someone want to check it out,try here:

Nice bit of info ... and the big question is, how did it change the bikes performance ?
I have always like the way the stock CRF-L pulls from low down without "bogging down". On some aftermarket exhausts, I get the impression this has been sacrificed for better top end performance.

well ,it does change it for sure..because the smoke has no restrictions anymore.+the stock muffler is bigger as well.not bad.I also changed front sproket to 13 T myself at the same time the guy was welding!,so can't actually say what it did change on its own.but u feel the difference ,now has a Jet control as well (bought it at Pekky Pro st, near Central mall for 3500!)not bad either. The thing i need now is a proper computerized tune up..since i'been messing around a bit with the jet control ;) but all together it is definetly better then before

Looks like a good deal Bob

Do you know if he does stuff for Ducatis, like Termignoni copies ??

Where is he located ?

Lots of akro copies end cans floating about around the 5k mark..

I am tempted to do copy dual akros for my LC4 styled KTM. Real ones are very spendy !!

The guy is located in Sakon Nakon take a look at the links I posted I think he would build anything on request.

As for performance changed front sprocket to a 13 will give it a blast soon, but getting rid of 10 k of scrap has to help !

I can't recommend the change to a 13T sprocket enough - cheapest and quickest way to change the bikes characteristics to "dirt".
In Chiang Mai, I have been getting them from CM MX Shop (next to Riders Corner), but the JT brand sprockets he supplies, have the 2x threaded holes drilled in the wrong place. This means grinding the retaining plate to make it work..... has anyone found a source for the correctly drilled version yet ?

U are oviusly changing the gear ratio.stock gear is the same as for the CBR 'strada'..I got mine at the big honda accessoris/dealer shop (on the road to Arcade bus st)yes it was tricky to put it in.original 14T sproket lock doesn't work.need to change that too.some patience, flip it back n forth until it fits n go ;)

edit> JT sproket..no grinding ,just make it fit
