Back to Sumbawa again.

I can’t seem to get this island out of my blood. Every time I exit the ferry ramp and the front wheel touches terra firma I think, “You bloody beauty! I’m back!”

True, and you won't see any beach umbrellas! Very little traffic, very friendly people. Lots to see and roads are ok too.

Yes, the beaches are really something and you will mostly have them all to yourself.

A lot of tourists come to Bali thinking they are going to find good beaches - they are wrong. Lombok and Sumbawa have great beaches - Flores less so.

Have to agree with you about Lombok beaches, far better than Bali but unfortunately the well off Indos know that too and Lombok is starting to get the Bali Bug. I know that it can be good for the locals but I just hope the powers that be will learn from ALL Bali mistakes and make lombok proud. I am sceptic knowing what people with money and power have done to wreck so much of Indonesia for the sake of a few bucks. Here's hoping the Sasaks are different!
