It has always seemed a bit strange to me that they give out so much in prize money yet seem to spend so little time and effort promoting the race.
There were no changes on their website last year before or after the event for months and months, I remember trying to find out beforehand and after but it all seemed to be speculation.

I just checked out their website today and it was last updated in September 2012....very odd.

Regardless, 1 million baht is a massive prize fund for racing at this level so I hope it gets the support it deserves.

I rode there a couple of weeks back on their YZF's with @clarky, i have a video on youtube but its only available on desktops because it has music in the background. Its only a short video of half the track because the other half is a bit overgrown with grass (dont fancy hitting a 50ft double with a grass covered tackoff..). Its a shame because the track and land has great potential but it seems they only put the effort in on the tracks once a year. I can only dream of owning land and a business like that!. Check out the vid here https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZQJltEDg4Y
Check out my other ones too ;-).

I agree, just showed it a friend friend who is one of the top SX guys in Thailand and he never heard about it. He was very surprised by the price money as well.

Hi I'm Ricky,
Thanks for everybody who support us and give us input and Ideas to make it better.
Just want to enplane a few Questions what came up in this post.
first the Website is not under my control it is a friend and customer who volunteered to do and I normally update on our Facebook site as I'm just a car mechanic not an IT guy. so sorry about the updating part I will let him know .
Second the Track is Maintained all the time, but during Raining season and as we are going to make a new Motocross Track in September I can't effort putting all the money in there at the moment.
Also it is due that People allays want everything cheap or for free everybody is welcome to ride the Track for free and everybody is welcome to work on the track ( what didn't happen much apart from a few close friends )
Sit back and think a bid I'm not a rich guy I put every Penny I earn in this place to make something for everybody who likes bikes.
But sometimes it is quite disappointing when people just complaining or trying to get it cheaper, I charge for a well maintained Motocross bike 2000,-Baht a day what includes up to an Hour engine running every additional started Hour will cost 1500,- If you compare this with a Jet Ski they charge 1200,- plus for 20min they don't have a track, Tyre's Chains and so on.
To maintain the Track with Cutting the Grass using my Tractor to smooth it out cost me 10000,- Baht a month for Labor and Petrol.
I payed 150000,- to Build the Track. ( So if someone want to chip in You are welcome ;-) )
We are putting our money at the moment to get the Restaurant Running so as we don't have a lot of Motocross Guys coming up at the moment We think that's more important.
Yes we are Giving away 1Mio Baht of Prices from our Sponsors due the following reasons
We want to bring Motocross back to live here in Thailand
We want the Sponsors reach as many people as possible
\The Race is in Dec and we will be advertising in lots of diff places we finalize the Sponsor Contracts at the moment what cost a lot of time but until then we can"t advertise to much we just put it out this early to let people know the dates so we don't have any conflicts with other organizers
Last Year was a Test Run to show Sponsors we can do it. we learned a lot and This Year will be much bigger then last Year.
We had over 200 Riders and 3000 Spectators last Year already now we have 10 Top international riders who Confirmed to come to our Race.
Plus 500 other Riders who confirmed to come.
will be great weekend with Freestyle show Party BBQ and lots more so hope to see you all there.
So if you want to give us a Hand you are welcome as well ;-)
So Ride save Baan Ricky:RO

Rick, Thanks for providing background information on the why and how of your track and your facilities (bikes, restaurant, etc.). I am quite sure that a few of the people on this forum might want to have a look or even participate in the event early December.

Hi my name is Joe Root I still race all over Asia and in California. Ricky last race was his 1st attempt at this. People who say will do something and do not don't help either. I was called last minute in Cebu, Philippines to come do track and help get ready only a few of us here t do it. No commitments from sponsors either , so to advertise something you do not for sure will happen is not good. we made it a success an everyone seem to have a good time. This year I am here already as you can see it is already being put into action, again not to get ahead of ourselves we just put some info, but we have great prizes for raffle and give a ways. So be a come and join us , we will be doing a 2014 Motocross Championship Series as well and the years to come. Thanks for your input as well.
Joe Root

The track was not prepped to sams ability we are sorry, H told me in England his Clubs track is not messed with all year but 2-3 times for different clubs to race. I caught Malaria 2 months ago when there was no grass on jumps or anywhere. but after losing 25 kilos I was in Cebu at my house recovering. But to say we dont maintain our tracks is foolish. It is Motox track, not track set up for personal videos. It is grass ride through it. I do and I am 57 I ride it just fine. We decided when I got bck there this month that our USA track builder will come and redo it all. It cost money to pay our guys to do track, but we do, but it is difficult when riders girlfriends flip our new bike, break brake lever, bend rear brake, and wear Ricky's gear at no charge as well. rider ask for discount after riding . the profit is gone, so please understand we try hard, this is not what we do for a living we have jobs as well, we spend our money and our time doing our best to promote sport, I wish Sam you can appreciate that an not bag on our track as when it makes money we can put more money into track and bikes, Thanks I hope you had fun either way. Joe Root

That's for your input good to see you are trying hard to provide a descent facility pity there aren't more like you in Thailand.

Nice to here your thoughts on the subject Joe, i think your prices are reasonable and I had no issues for paying for the amount i rode, around 1.5 hours, i did however have an issue with paying for the 2 hours running time as i wasn't the only one ridding that bike, which was sorted out there and then as @clarky offered to pay his part (meaning you lost nothing). Amy offered to pay for the brake lever but ricky declined, so quite frankly i think this is extremely poor customer service and unprofessional slating your customers like this especially when hiding the truth. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion especially customers who have paid to do something, maybe i have been spoilt with the tracks in the UK. Having said that, you guys say the track is free to use but you rent the bikes, and a rented motocross bike is wasted without a nice track to ride on. Forgive me for saying it seems it only gets maintained once a year but from where i was ridding thats what it looked like, clearly grass grows a lot quicker than i realised in thailand. The track needs to be in the same condition for every customer throughout the year or else he/she is going to feel disappointed or you are only going to get customers for a few months of the year. Im in no way say this track is terrible, it would be great fun without the grass, but theres that much of it i didn't realise there was another track the other side of the fence! Im sorry my expectations where high as i checked out the track on youtube and the website before we came and expected it to be grassless. Im in no way trying to put a bad name on your business, in fact iv been sharing your advertisement over my social networks trying to get it out there, but you got to be able to take criticism and learn from it otherwise you wont succeed. Personally i think you both have blown this way out of proportion and yes we both enjoyed ourselves. Thank you,
Sam

Thanks Sam

Just a quick thought, Sam Clark rode bike about 5 laps around 1/16th mile oval. maybe 5 minutes , the other guy tried the # 67 bike, We reduced the price from 1500 for 2nd hour to 1200 for you taking a 300 baht negative to cover that,so we did not charge Clark as we did not feel that was fare. The hour meter read 1.9 not 1.5 if i am correct. But either way OUR BIGGEST CONCERN is YOU HAD FUN! That is what we are trying to build on. If I take tractor out there to skim weeds on jumps the approach will be so rutted from wheels it is pointless at this time. Also we appreciate that your GF offered to pay, but once again Rick's kindness , like not charging 500 baht for his gear, is always there, so Please look at the bright side of what we are trying to accomplish. We want you to have fun we gave all a free buffet dinner and we know we lose money, BUT WE ARE CONCERNED THAT ALL HAVE FUN! We want to build the sport as much as possible. You do realize we drive from Bangkok Friday nights and drive back on Sunday nights, So we have limited time to work and when riders are here our concern is you having a GREAT time. We are not mad at anyone, we just wish before people write negative things about US they think about what we did for them as well. I think we have spent enough time on this issue. Just remember, I ride in California, I see pics of tracks also when i get there covered in snow, I don't complain I just race ( Ok I complain at my transport) We hope you come back and ride the track when not raining all week so you can get full benefit of our track. Sam we love anybody who rides a motorcycle Street , dirt, MC people are great, look at the weekend we all sat drank beer, ate, told stories, it was great , let's keep that positive energy going in our sport and in our lives. Thanks and thanks for coming to our facility. Maybe when Red Bull gives us big check we can have full time track guy, believe me we are working on it. I have been away from my house and GF months at a time to do so. As you say in UK CHEERS MATE, hope to see you and GF again.

Maybe this is none of my business but people seem to forget that buying and maintaining a dirt bike in Thailand is not the same as in Europe / US.

As far as I know here in northern Thailand there are no MX bikes for rent so big heads up to Ricky for doing so. I think the price he rents them is certainly not too high. If people complain just let them go rent a klx or crf-l and think again.

*I Would Just Like Too Clear Something Up Here!!* I did not complain about the price on this forum!!!....

I do understand how much it cost as i work for a import business in Bangkok... so i know the import taxes and charges for vehicles and parts, as i said i think the prices are reasonable.

I only had an issue with the fact the price is (Rightly) calculated by 'Running Hours' and i wasn't the only person running it and i wasn't aware of how much time i actually used it. And Both me and Ricky sorted that out there and then (I THOUGHT).

All i mearly stated is that i wasn't comfortable jumping some of the big doubles with a grass covered take off, I'm not a pro and i haven't ridden this track as dirt. i understand the reasons behind the lack of track prep this rain season now, had i of gone a few weeks prior im sure my views on the track would of been very different.

My entail comment wasn't a "Review" or in any way representing my whole experience, i was going to write one but Keith @Clarky sums it up well enough in his Post.

I hope the tracks gets all the funding it needs and i hope that Motocross takes off sooner rather than later in Thailand so people like Ricky can get more Guys/Gals using his track week in week out.

Peace out.:DD

P.S this emoji sums up my "GF's" Amy's crash perfectly :lost
