Am heading from Chiang Mai home to Sak Lek and Thip wants to visit the WAT at Phra That Cho Hae for some reason ( looks like it's SE on the 1022 approx 12k out of Phrae) so we'll take 2 days to get home.
Am looking for accom options close by in Phrae / Den Chai area for 1 night.
Thanks in advance.

Phrae hotel options

Got a couple of options for you in Phrae ...

The Northern View Hotel -
Location: 18.1103257, 100.1400156 (close to where the 101 splits, a few km south of the city, and close to the Wat)
Individual bungalows, fronting onto the car-park, so reasonably safe. Clean & nice and about 700 bht from memory. Basic breakfast included.

The Viva Resort
Location: 18.1221175, 100.142991 (just off the 101 that goes into the city from the south, and a tad further away from the Wat)
Tel : 054 522717
This is a new hotel built down a side street, and last year was brand new, offering clean rooms. However, as the rooms don't have windows, its possible that they were going to develop in hourly-rate rooms (the secure and hidden parking being another give-away).
About the 6-700 baht mark, it was fine for me, but if your tastes are different, maybe better as a second choice. No breakfast.

^ sure looks like a curtain hotel-rent by the hour type set up.

Lovely rooms though.

Right in Phrae - Nakhon Phrae Tower - 056 711155

Stayed there a couple years back. Acceptable for about 600 baht including breakfast..

Accomodation in Phrae

Heading in from the south, take the right fork on the 101 (not into town) and approx 500m onwards on the right is this joint at only 390 baht / night.
Rooms were huge, incl. wi-fi, a/c and fan.
Only downside was no power point or light at bed head - far too common a practice in thai house /hotel design?
Next door was this lovely eatery (seems like very little expense was spared by owner in construction).
