A Hot Days Ride To The Bristol Lakes

Total distance 256 miles/410 km

Riding through Somerset and the Glastonbury Tor in the distance



Now riding through the Somerset levels







Now its time to ride through the lovely Cheddar Gorge













Hopefully that sign has been forgotten rather than an obstacle I have to encounter











This beautiful area is in a place called Rickford

















The Blagdon lake was overflowing







Two or three years ago I rode along that track and around the lake on my Honda 500F but today the gate was locked













Now to find the big lake



Unfortunately the Chew Valley Lake wasn't overflowing, just a bit of seepage escaping











Today was the hottest day of the year and I was only wearing a t shirt under my leather jacket from when I left at 8.30 until getting back home at 6pm, not usual in april







Some lovely stone cottages around this area, I didn't see any brickwork









Another longish trip tomorrow and again on sunday will have the Bm ready for its first service on monday

Upon returning home I find my new camera waiting for me so hopefully tomorrow I will test it out
