I've ridden this one, known by some as the Big Dipper, a couple, or more, times. I remember thinking it was plenty steep when I did it on the Ducati, but there's steeper bits of road out there. The northern end of the 4009 for example. However, its a nice piece of road and a minor side-trip on a Pu Chi Fa loop that is worth doing.

The 4018 runs west from the 1155 (near the spur on the 1093) to the 1020 and is only about 10 km long. We did the southern section of the 1093 and then ducked up the 1155 to start our two-way run. The video below the map covers the entirety of the 4018, including one of the viewpoints, running from east to west.

We rejoined the 1093 and the two small spurs on the track below were Pu Chi Fa and Doi Pha Tang - which I will include in an overall ride report.

Its a bit funny at about the 3 1/2 minute mark. I'd taken the Forza on this trip because of a thumb strain, and it struggled with the hills. Someone, who shall remain nameless, gave our fat arses a bit of a push up the hill. Instant acceleration - until the momentum was lost again and again.

Here's the same viewpoint a almost a couple of years back - taken on 21- January 2019, the pipes on the sign and the tin sheds are gone now
