A couple of km past Sob Moei on the 3004 is a turn for a reservoir
Virtually full to capacity
These tell me the track carries on round the back of the reservoir
It does but its single track
I ride alongside a stream for a while with two places where I ride through it
No tyre tracks or foot prints here, only hoof marks and the track disappears so its turn around time
Further along the 3004 its been fenced off by the crash barriers so its not possible to ride in and park up anymore
Small waterfalls but no sign saying what its called
The viewpoint at the top of the hill is being painted
This village is marked on the map but not the track to get there so I set off on the one going in that direction
The concrete track going there is completely overgrown where I should be in the village but there is no village here, only the old water tanks from years ago.
On my ride home when I stopped at the viewpoint again a guy there told me the village was moved about six years ago to its new location
I find its new location about 1 km away
In Ban Hom Mae So Kuai which is the village at the end of the track
This Lady spoke good English and told me the other three villages are all called Khun Mae Kha Tuan, 1,2 and 3
This kids toy was keeping them all amused
Time to explore some crop access side tracks
Looks like I have got company arriving
They are on a rat hunting expedition.
There was one further track I could see from a vantage point but it was heavily barricaded up and not accessable
